1. Introduction

In this document, Credia Limited, trading as Lenny (“we”, “us”, “our”), sets out the terms and conditions that apply to your use of our services.

Your agreement with us is formed by:

If there is any inconsistency between these documents, these Application Terms & Conditions apply to the extent of the inconsistency.

We are a digital financial advice provider for personal loans, connecting you with lenders from our panel to help you obtain conditional credit decisions in a fast and efficient manner.


2. Our Services

Our services include providing access to our digital platform that enables you to apply for a personal loan and receive information and recommendations in relation to available loan options.

Our services include:

  1. Digital assessment and matching
    We use digital systems and lender criteria to assess information you provide to identify lenders from our panel that may be willing to consider your application.This process does not affect your credit score.
  2. Initial assessment
    We may provide an initial indication or conditional decision in relation to personal loans typically ranging from $3,000 to $100,000, subject to lender criteria and final approval.
  3. Submission to lenders
    Following the initial assessment, we may submit your application to up to three lenders that we consider most appropriate, based on the information you provide and lender criteria.
  4. Customer portal access
    You will be provided access to a secure online customer portal, available 24/7, to track the progress of your application, provide information, and upload documents.
  5. Information and digital recommendations
    When loan offers are received, we present information comparing available loan options and provide a recommendation explaining key features, differences, advantages, and disadvantages of those options.
  6. Optional information about insurance
    We may provide information about optional loan-related insurance products.We do not provide advice in relation to insurance.


3. Important Limitations

Our services relate only to personal loan options available from our lender panel. Please note that:

  • we do not assess whether a loan is affordable for you or whether you can repay a loan without hardship;
  • affordability and suitability assessments are undertaken by the lender as part of their lending decision;
  • we do not provide financial advice in relation to insurance, business loans, or other products.

You should carefully consider all information provided and seek legal advice where appropriate.


4. How the Application Process Works

You (and, where applicable, a joint borrower) will complete an online application with us, which may require you to:

  • digitally verify your income or upload bank statements;
  • provide current and valid photo identification;
  • provide information about your employment, income, expenses, liabilities, and credit history.

We may obtain information from third-party providers, including credit reporting agencies and data providers, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

You may be required to provide more information before receiving a formal loan decision from a lender.


5. Conditional Loan Approvals

All our loan approvals are conditional only and subject to the lender’s final approval:

  • Conditional approvals are generally valid for up to 7 days from notification, unless withdrawn earlier by a lender.
  • If a conditional approval expires, you may be required to submit a new application and meet all eligibility requirements again.

You may withdraw your application at any time before a final decision is made by notifying us by email at domore@lenny.co.nz or using the cancellation function in your customer portal.

Credit-related insurance is provided by SBS Insurance, a licensed insurance company.

If you choose to acquire insurance:

  • the premium may be added to your loan amount; and
  • interest will be charged on that amount.

You can cancel the insurance in accordance with the insurance terms, and any unused insurance payments may be refunded and applied to reduce the loan balance.

We provide information only about insurance products and do not provide financial advice on insurance.


7. Privacy and Information Collection

You authorise us and our lender panel to collect, use, disclose, store, and protect personal information in accordance with:

This may include obtaining information from the following credit reporting agencies (see the Privacy Policy for more information):

  • Centrix Group Limited;
  • Equifax Information Services and Solutions Ltd; and
  • Experion.

If you provide personal information about another person, you confirm that you are authorised to do so and that you will provide that person with a copy of our Privacy Policy.


8. Eligibility and Use of Services

Our services are available only:

  • to individuals (including joint borrowers);
  • to individuals aged 18 years or older; and
  • for borrowing for personal purposes in New Zealand.

Our services must not be used by companies, partnerships, trusts, or other organisations.

You must not impersonate another person or access the services on behalf of someone else.

We may restrict or prevent access to our services at our absolute discretion.


9. Your Obligations

You agree and acknowledge that:

  • all information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date;
  • you will promptly provide information we reasonably request;
  • you will notify us of any material change in your circumstances;
  • failure to provide information may prevent us from providing our services;
  • you will keep your customer portal secure;
  • you will not misuse our services or provide misleading, unlawful, or objectionable information.


10. Fees

Any fees payable to us are set out in our Disclosure Statement, available at https://lenny.co.nz/important-information. You agree to pay those fees in the relevant circumstances.

Fees may be added to your loan or paid separately, as disclosed.


11. Responsibility and Liability

Nothing in this Agreement limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993, except where permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for:

  • the performance of any loan or insurance product; or
  • the actions, decisions, or conduct of lenders or insurers.


12. General Matters

  • Termination: Either party may terminate this Agreement at any time but termination does not affect the rights or obligations that either either party had before termination.
  • Changes: We may update any part of this Agreement by letting you know, as long as any update is reasonable and doesn’t affect any significant negative impact on you (however we can update the Privacy Policy and Website Terms without notifying you, where the changes don’t have a significant negative impact on you).
  • Services for You Only: Our services are provided solely to you.
  • Entire Agreement: This Agreement contains everything the parties agreed to about the services and replaces any prior discussions or arrangements.
  • No Assignment: You may not assign your rights or obligations under the Agreement.
  • Electronic Communications: We may communicate with you (including to provide notices) electronically.


13. Dictionary

The following terms have the meanings below:

  • “Agreement” has the meaning given to that term in the introduction above.
  • “Application” means an application for a personal loan you submit to us (excludes applications we make to lenders on your behalf).
  • “Disclosure” means the disclosure we provide to you at any time including the Disclosure on our Website https://lenny.co.nz/important-information
  • “Fees” means our fees as set out in the Disclosure.
  • “Privacy Policy” means our privacy policy from time-to-time published https://lenny.co.nz/privacy )
  • “Services” means the services provided to you as described in these terms and conditions, on our Website and in our Disclosure.
  • “Website” means Lenny website at https://lenny.co.nz

In addition:

  • a reference to “you”, “your” is to the person named on the Application;
  • a reference to information includes a reference to documents;
  • a reference to $ or dollars is to New Zealand currency;
  • a reference to including and similar words do not imply any limitation;
  • words in the singular include the plural and vice versa.
